Blogs — My Journey: Report No 7 More Milestones (Updated)

Today I have reached new milestones on my journey. I now have a little over 400 followers, and I have had 5000 views this month. The largest number of viewers that I have had in one day, was 304. I am not sure when, but about 2–3 weeks ago I joined the Partner Program. I did not actually do so earlier, even though I had already reached 100 followers.
As of today, I have earned $12.63. I know that doesn’t sound much, but for the first time, I am earning money writing, and that is a big deal. At the very least I am earning enough to pay my monthly Medium subscription.
Today, I want to talk about something fundamental that touches all of us as writers.
I have been trying to respond to every one of you, by clapping, highlighting, and commenting, but we are all busy in our lives, and sometimes this is not always possible.
I will do my very best to respond, clap, and highlight whenever I can.
I treasure each and every interaction with you, and I am blessed to have received your support and encouragement. Truly, I have been amazed by your kindness and the help that you have given me by sharing your thoughts and your wisdom.
I have many dear friends, and these friendships have been created through the miracle of Medium, and I will do all that I can to keep responding and interacting with you. You are too important to me, not to do so.
When people go out of their way to leave numerous comments and claps, sharing their kindness and wisdom, as so many of you do, I do all I can to reply in kind. You should know that you are important to me.
Not simply because I want to be successful on Medium, but fundamentally because you are people that I want to know and learn from.
If I am unable to reply to you for any reason, this is not because of you, or anything you have done, it is simply because of the physical limitations that we all face as writers here on Medium.
There are many people that have shared with me and often touched my life. You are dear friends with beautiful hearts, and I will continue to respond to your kindness and sharing.
So far I have written 88 blogs, some, of course, better than others.
In all, at the time of writing, I have responded 1912 times during February (I am not sure if the stats include January and December, but if they do the numbers would have been much smaller during those months).
I know that each one of us has to work hard to become successful, but life is also about priorities and balance, and so sometimes it is not possible to do everything that I want to do.

Recently, I have had little time for writing, and my wife keeps reminding me that I should have a stock of articles that I can publish when inevitably I will not be able to write on particular days. But the problem always is time.
I have 3 main priorities that seem to be to me very important.
- To become a part of the beating heart of Medium and the family, the community that I have found here.
- To write as much content as I can, write at least two books, and do what I must to follow the career path that I believe best suits me and my life.
- To earn money to support my family.
One of the key takeaways for me is this, and it is so important that I want to share it with all of you.
We all have our own reasons for writing on Medium. My comments now are directed toward my fellow writers.
When you write on Medium you naturally want to attract as many viewers and readers as you can, as quickly as you can.
But you should never lose sight of the fact that you are here to write, and your writing should not suffer because you are trying to be too much to too many people.
Whatever you do should not:
- Cause stress, and disturb the natural balance of your life, such as sleeping and proper rest.
- Stop you from writing.
- Stop you from enjoying what you are doing, because everything becomes too hard to sustain.
I truly wish you well on your journeys here on Medium and wish you every success.
