Summary

The article discusses the U.S. government's allocation of $13 billion in aid to Ukraine while there are homeless Black Americans and ongoing debates about reparations for Foundational Black Americans.

Abstract

The U.S. Congress has approved a significant spending package that includes 13.6 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine, amid ongoing discussions about the need for reparations for Black Americans. The article highlights the stark contrast between the swift financial support for Ukraine and the lack of direct assistance for homeless Black individuals in the United States. It criticizes the government's reluctance to address reparations, often citing the need for studies and commissions, while simultaneously providing substantial aid to Ukraine, including an additional 800 million in security support from President Joe Biden. The author suggests a bias in prioritizing aid, with funds seemingly more readily available for international crises involving predominantly white populations than for domestic issues affecting Black communities.

Opinions

  • The author implies that the U.S. government is more willing to spend money on international aid, particularly for Ukraine, than on addressing domestic poverty and homelessness among Black Americans.
  • There is a perceived injustice in the ease with which the government provides financial assistance to other countries compared to the resistance and bureaucracy faced when discussing reparations for Black Americans.
  • The article suggests that the government's actions reflect a racial bias, with aid being more forthcoming for "white folks when they’re in trouble" than for Black Americans in need.
  • The author points out the irony of the government being able to send out resources quickly in the case of Ukraine but allegedly distributing crack pipes when it comes to helping Black Americans.
  • The article criticizes the lack of support for reparations, viewing the calls for further studies and commissions as "lame excuses" to avoid fulfilling what the author believes is owed to Foundational Black Americans.

Congress passed $13 billion of our tax dollars in Ukraine aid along with government funding.

The Senate voted to approve a massive spending package that includes $1.5 trillion in funding to keep the federal government open with a $13.6 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine sending it to Jim Crow Joe Biden for his signature.

Just recently, Joe Biden just gave Ukraine another $800 million in new security.

Black people, do you see how easy it is for these folks to give out money to these other groups?

Why when it comes to us talking about getting reparations for Foundational Black Americans, they talk about needing to get a study and a commission — just a bunch of lame excuses that pop up in their heads to not give us what is owed.

But man, when it comes to helping white folks when they’re in trouble, the cash starts raining from the sky.

We have all of these homeless Black people in America that could really use some assistance but Joe Biden and the Democrats can’t find a way to help.

But they can send out crack pipes.
