Summary

The undefined website outlines a Black History Month challenge to write articles on black history, significant figures, and racial issues in America, advocating for education and dialogue on black excellence and racial justice beyond the designated month.

Abstract

The undefined website presents a challenge for the month of February, traditionally observed as Black History Month in the United States. The author, Justin Stinnett, commits to writing daily articles that delve into various aspects of black history, including the contributions of notable black individuals and the experiences of being a black man in America. The initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of black history, which the author emphasizes is an integral part of American history. While acknowledging the limitations of confining such recognition to a single month, Stinnett encourages others to join in the challenge, engage in discussions about racial issues, and support the call for systemic changes such as equal voting rights, housing opportunities, and criminal justice reform. The website also includes a referral link to join Medium and a special offer for an AI service called ZAI.chat, positioned as a cost-effective alternative to ChatGPT Plus (GPT-4).

Opinions

  • The author believes that the recognition of black history should not be limited to a single month and advocates for tangible societal changes like voting rights, housing opportunities, and criminal justice reform.

  • There is a call to action for readers to participate in the challenge, either by writing or by engaging in conversations about racial topics, including voting legislation and Critical Race Theory.
  • The author emphasizes that black history is a shared heritage, relevant to all Americans regardless of race or age.
  • The inclusion of a referral link to Medium and a promotion for ZAI.chat indicates the author's endorsement of these platforms as avenues for content creation and consumption related to the challenge.

Its’ unfortunate that this country has decided to only use 1 calendar month to show appreciate to the black community. I know many of us, myself included, would gladly give up Black History Month in exchange for equal voting rights, housing opportunities, reformed criminal justice system, and reparations.

With that being said, I’m going to use this month to challenge myself and other writers on this platform. For every day this month, I will write an article which will discuss black history, important black figures, perspectives on being a black man in America, etc.

I would encourage those of you who want to participate in this challenge to learn more about the many important black men and women whose lives have been somewhat forgotten. This challenge will help us all celebrate and educate ourselves and others on black excellence.

The month of February is always an important month for me. This year specifically, I would like to continue the tough conversations on racial issues in America today.

From voting legislation to Critical Race Theory. There are many topics that need to be addressed so that others will be able to voice their opinion while hearing the thoughts of others.

Anyways, feel free to participate in this challenge with me, or create your own. Feel free to leave a comment on topics you will write about or would like another writer to tackle.

Remember…..Black History is American History. And it’s for all of us to know, no matter your race or age.
