Bird Song
A Poem
Take me away to a place Where the birds are singing my song Where the babbling brook Weaves its crystal clear water Through the trees Over stones Along a path carved out Centuries ago
Take me away to a place Where the birds are singing my song Where the sun dapples its light Through the leaves Onto trillium Ferns and Ivy Along a path carved out By forest animals
Take me away to a place Where the birds are singing my song Where the small forest creatures Play hide and seek Not caring That I am watching them Along paths carved out In places unseen
Take me away to a place Where the birds are singing my song Where snakes and insects Go about the business Of nature Hidden On paths carved out Underground
Take me away to a place Where the birds are singing my song Where the heart can be free To absorb natures healing Secure In a way That carves out a path To my creative self
Take me away to a place Where the birds are singing my song And the lyrics are Forever carved Into my soul
