A Journey of Love | Love Languages

Bioluminescence

A Poem — Seduced by Your Touch

The Embrace by Auguste Rodin (graphite on white woven paper)

in that quiet hour, by the glimmering light of the full moon, shadows dance upon my body as your hands meander over flesh and bone with the gentleness of a feather. sensory receptors ignite like a million fireflies swaying on a warm summer night, lights pulsating to a primordial rhythm, my heart’s wings unfurling, body glowing with the bioluminescence of your love. enraptured, it is in the here and the now that i unravel and become undone.

I must confess that I’ve never been a big fan of Valentine’s Day, though I’ve always had a soft spot for love. So, in celebration of that (and not Valentine’s Day!), I’ve decided to embark on a journey to write poems that speak to each of the five love languages — Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. It would give me great joy if you were to join me on this journey.

Thank you for taking the time to read my poem. Without you, my voice would be a soft whisper just floating in the air.
