Biden Says It’s Over, Trump Still Says It’s Not
Fighting back against the death of our nation
However, this election drama ends, half the country will think it was corrupt. For the next four years, division and hatred will be rampant.
Christians, it’s time to love like never before.
We need real love — gut-wrenching, self-sacrificing, willing to take a hit for another’s benefit, going where no one else dares to go, loving like every single person is made in the image of God.
We need to love beyond political divisions, voting histories, or charges of corruption. We need to love across every division, fight for unity in Jesus’ name, and never give up until our unity in Jesus is stronger than our divisions over anything else.
If we sit on the sidelines — if we let these divisions and hatred fester — then the world will grow darker and darker as we refuse to let our light shine.
If we don’t love, we don’t know God.
We must love it. We cannot be satisfied with tolerance, or platitudes, or staying in our Christian enclaves while surrendering that outside to their darkening fate.
We must close every distance and LOVE.
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7–8, ESV)
There are no exceptions.
- We do not get to exclude those who voted differently.
- We do not get to hate those who want a different future for our country.
- We do not get to reject those who champion different values.
If we do not love those who are different than us, we do not know God, because God is love.
And if our lack of love proves that we do not know God, our fate is far darker than we imagine.
Unite — the only way we can
Every other force in this nation is pushing for the division.
Political parties fight for power. Different camps within each party fight against each other. Social media accounts fling hatred, lies, and attacks across the globe. Opinions divide families, friends, co-workers, even churches. Even sports rivalries teach people to root against the other side and celebrate their downfall.
Everything divides.
Except for Christ.
Jesus loves everyone, even the least deserving. Jesus loves everyone because we are all the least deserving. None of us has earned God’s love. He gives it anyway. He gives it to everyone.
We’re His children. He made us in His image, to look like Him, billions of babies all resembling their Daddy. He won’t stop loving us. That’s who He is — a good, good Father.
If you dare to call yourself by the name of Christ, then you must love. You must love everyone, even those who you think are destroying the country. You must love across every divide, every excuse, every challenge. You must love to save the soul of our nation.
Yes, it will hurt. Yes, it will cost you. Yes, it will upset your comfortable life. Yes, you will fail.
But you will also succeed.
Love carries a power that surpasses all else. Love can turn a person’s heart when every argument fails. Love can satisfy you far more powerfully than the greatest creature comforts. Love can provide for you when all the paychecks cease. Love can heal wounds you never thought would close. Love can make life meaningful again for even the hardest of souls.
Love can win.
So you must love.
If we don’t, who else will?
