Bibi Jan

photo is my own

Bibi Jaan — she was a strong woman

Even in her last moments — she struggled to take every breath

It broke us into tears of what perhaps — the time we mostly all fear

Bibi jaan is dying — as we start to distress , she cant breathe

Oh God, please help — we rush her to the hospital in haste

But in that moment, we bear witness to the bad omens

We ready ourselves to accept the news — my bibi jaan is no more

Anguish spreads to our core — she left us exclaimed everyone in our home

The people she beared — the people who were adored

And thus i lost a mother once more— i miss you bibi jaan, i will come meet you real soon

Following poem is dedicated to my grandmother who died yesterday after sustaining internal liver failure, as i spent the last night with her assisting and caring for her. I bear witness to the struggle of life death that has killed me from within. Please pray for my beloved departed. I hope people are able to savor each moment with their loved ones in these times of crisis. You don’t know whether it might be your last, or theirs.

Take care.
