Between Rabbits in the Grass and Songbirds in the Bushes

Where I sit in my happy spot on the hill

Soon, I won’t be able to look down the hill anymore as high as the grass has grown. It gets more and more difficult to spot rabbits in the pasture.

But I saw a few of them walking up the hill as they remained low in the grass up until I almost stepped onto them not being able to see them. Right then, they jumped up frightening me and running away.

While there were some sheep on the left side of this pasture when I was coming up the hill, they now have all moved to the right again.

The cattle on the neighbor’s farmland have come together at the gate. I guess they are ready to be taken in for the night.

The sun is standing low on the horizon disappearing now and then between the fast-moving clouds.

The songbirds just got active, all singing in a different melody. I hear them chirping in the bushes down below while I have no chance of spotting them behind a thick layer of leaves.

A bumblebee is pollinating the foxglove flowers blooming up here on the hill and I hear an upset bunch of sheep bleating on someone’s farmland to the North.

Three raptors are circling high above the pasture as I get up to walk home again. Which is just a few minutes away but out of sight from up here.
