PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE

Between Misty Mornings and Wet Afternoons

Week 168 of the photographic documentary of my daily life

Fall is now settled in and the temperatures are where they are supposed to be at this time of the year. It rains more, the mornings are cool and wet and the sky stays gray while the forest is slowly changing colors

On Thursday morning I woke to a haze in the air. The sky was overcast and the clouds were hanging low but not that low. We could still see the wind turbines underneath the layer of grayness.

On Friday we went for a long walk through the woods and stumbled upon these weird mushrooms growing out of the trunk of a tree still alive. I didn’t notice that moment but I captured a fly sitting atop one of the mushroom heads.

The weekend began with a weak sunrise but the clouds were breaking off during the day giving us some sunlight and sunshine.

On Sunday, the skies looked similar, but the strong winds soon pushed away the clouds and we had a beautiful day in fall. Blue skies and sunshine all around.

We headed to my parents' still on Sunday evening and slept late on Monday. I opened my letter arriving from Canada and had to put my new friendship bracelets immediately onto my arm. They were a present from Jillian.

The weather stayed the same, but I didn’t mind. I visited a friend and spent the afternoon chatting with her while playing with a toddler. I took the picture below when I returned home. It had just stopped raining, but pearls of water were still decorating the petals of the flowers.

On Wednesday I visited two more friends and played some more with other toddlers. Catching up with friends before heading across the world to another country was nice.

Meanwhile, David was changing the tires of our car together with my dad. The summer tires had to come off and the winter tires got mounted on. While we will be gone over the cold season, we leave the car for my dad to use.
