7 most popular Data Sciece Courses
- Google Data Analytics
- IBM Data Science
- IBM Data Analyst
- Python for Everybody
- Learn SQL Basics for Data Science
- Data Science Fundamentals with Python and SQL
- Applied Data Science with Python
Let’s talk about them one by one.
In this program, you’ll learn in-demand skills that will have you job-ready in less than 6 months. No degree or experience required — you’ll learn SQL and R in the context of data science.
My favourite Data Science course on Coursera. Kickstart your career in data science and Machine Learning. Build data science skills, learn Python & SQL, analyze and visualize data as well as build machine learning models. No degree or prior experience required (though some familiarity with coding is helpful).
Gain the job-ready skills for an entry-level data analyst role and position yourself competitively in the thriving job market for data analysts, which will see a 20% growth until 2028 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Power your data analyst career by learning the core principles of data analysis and gaining hands-on skills practice. You’ll work with a variety of data sources, project scenarios, and data analysis tools, including Excel, SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Cognos Analytics, gaining practical experience with data manipulation and applying analytical techniques.
The best entry point to programming and Data Science!
This Specialization builds on the success of the Python for Everybody course and will introduce fundamental programming concepts including data structures, networked application program interfaces, and databases, using the Python programming language.
In the Capstone Project, you’ll use the technologies learned throughout the Specialization to design and create your own applications for data retrieval, processing, and visualization.
Learn SQL Basics for Data Science
This Specialization is intended for a learner with no previous coding experience seeking to develop SQL query fluency. Through four progressively more difficult SQL projects with data science applications, you will cover topics such as SQL basics, data wrangling, SQL analysis, AB testing, distributed computing using Apache Spark, Delta Lake and more.
These topics will prepare you to apply SQL creatively to analyze and explore data; demonstrate efficiency in writing queries; create data analysis datasets; conduct feature engineering, use SQL with other data analysis and machine learning toolsets; and use SQL with unstructured data sets.
Data Science Fundamentals with Python and SQL
The specialization consists of 5 self-paced online courses that will provide you with the foundational skills required for Data Science, including open source tools and libraries, Python, Statistical Analysis, SQL, and relational databases. You’ll learn these data science pre-requisites through hands-on practice using real data science tools and real-world data sets.
Applied Data Science with Python
The 5 courses in this University of Michigan specialization introduce learners to data science through the python programming language. This skills-based specialization is intended for learners who have a basic python or programming background, and want to apply statistical, machine learning, information visualization, text analysis, and social network analysis techniques through popular python toolkits such as pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, nltk, and networkx to gain insight into their data.
What Data Science Course to choose on Coursera?
Depending on your experience, there’s a data science course for you.
If you have no experience at all with coding, start with Python for Everybody.
Then you can progress to one of the three courses: Google Data Analytics, IBM Data Science, IBM Data Analyst. Each one is different and focuses on a different aspect of data science and data analysis.
If you have some experience then you can progress directly to learning SQL with Learn SQL Basics for Data Science and then also hone your skills with Data Science Fundamentals with Python and SQL.
Finally Applied Data Science with Python will give you practical problems to solve.
Last but not least don’t forget about the HOLIDAY SPECIAL: $100 off Coursera Plus subscription.
