Abstract

ne individuals, generous personalities, and gifted people for most of my life. They were all good-natured, full of wisdom, goal-oriented and grounded. All of them were real gems and one of a kind. I’m so happy that they’re highly successful and well-settled in their lives with brilliant careers.

There were several years when there was a lot of negativity around me. I take complete responsibility for that phase, and I attracted people with serious issues. People had just unusual expectations from me, and I could never make them happy, ever. Finally, a new era just dawned when I stopped indulging in any kind of negative behaviour or tolerating any negativity around me — no gossip, back-biting, stories of self-contempt, and pessimistic discussions. I consciously started avoiding toxic people. In the process, I lost few so-called friends and became isolated, too. However, through self-control and shedding of negative aura, authentic connections were reignited and are manageable. There are still episodes of negative people entering my life, but I now keep a tight lid on my emotions and energies.

© Fatima Imam

Sincere thanks to 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘊. for sparking creativity within us and giving us new ideas to express it.

Here is her latest post for this week’s prompts:

Best and the Worst: Changed with My Mindset

Wednesday: What kind of people do you attract?

We are known by the company we keep. We try hard to interact with the best possible individuals who can help us grow, develop our personalities, and most importantly, we can be comfortable around them. The rejection from likable individuals disappoints us tremendously, and we try even harder to come into their zones. We try different methods and sometimes even get to do weird things to attract their attention. However, we tend to forget about the negative energy that we emit through our desperation and frustration. We get involved in doing things that disturb our authentic aura and attract people or relationships that are just bad for everyone involved.

Friends are everything to me. They define me and my relationship with life. Whenever I have lowered my guard down, there have been serious issues. Fortunately, I have been associated with great minds, genuine individuals, generous personalities, and gifted people for most of my life.
