Bennie: The Alien Among Us
And his mission on Earth
Bennie was a popular guy in the neighborhood. What no one knew is that he was an alien from outer space. No one knew because he was using a perfectly normal human body and he had downloaded all the appropriate language and colloquialisms of the area as well as all the collective human knowledge and customs. He also went to the local library and read every single book they had in about twenty minutes without ever cracking open a book.
Of course he also retained all the knowledge that he came into the planet with. He was considerably more intelligent than all the humans in the neighborhood. The hardest thing for him in regard to interacting with those humans was learning how to lie.
When people asked Bennie where he was from he said Chattanooga, mostly because he liked the sound of that word. It was delightful to say. Plus, Chattanooga was far enough away from the neighborhood that surely no one would go there to research his non-existent history there.
When people asked him about his family he told them that they had all died in a fiery plane crash. He noticed that this seemed to immediately illicit sympathy and kept everyone from further inquiry. He had a feeling, though, that some day someone would ask him which plane crash.
To blend in, Bennie got a job as a check-out clerk at the local grocery store. This enabled him to encounter most everyone in the neighborhood. He also attended services at all the local churches, went to all local sporting events and attended all school plays and band concerts. He also volunteered at the local hospital to help provide comfort and companionship to patients.
To fulfill his mission he needed to get to know every human — and animal — in the neighborhood. The purpose of his one-year mission was to uplift an entire neighborhood one person — and one animal — at a time.
One of the hardest things about adapting to human life was learning how to drive a car. Transportation was so very different on his home planet.
Bennie spent his first few months helping as many people as he could in any way that he could. Through interacting with the humans he was able to inject them with a universal energy that seemed to be in short supply on this planet. This energy empowered people, lifted their spirits and helped them release their woes. It was also very healing.
Bennie’s popularity grew exponentially. People did not consciously know it but what drew them to Bennie was that powerful energy. When you feel so good after just spending five minutes chatting with him… well, you just want to spend more time with him.
Near the end of his fifth month in the neighborhood Bennie came home to his tiny apartment to find Flondoor sitting on his couch. Flondoor was from Bennie’s home planet and was the supervisor of the program of inserting individuals into neighborhoods in order to accelerate the injection of that universal energy into humankind in order boost human evolution.
“Greetings Flondoor.”
Flondoor stood up. “Greetings to you. I came to evaluate your progress. How are things going?”
“Well, I believe things are going very well.”
“Yes, we took a reading on the collective human vibrations of the neighborhood and they are definitely up. Good job. The animal vibes seem unchanged, though.”
“Yes, well… it seems the animals don’t need the injection nearly so much as the humans. The animals seem a little more advanced.”
“And why do you think that is?”
“Well, their hearts are open and they are not stuck in the egoic thought/emotion circuitry that humans live in — which is why the hearts of humans tend to be so closed down. You know, I’ve talked to a lot of animals around here and they all express a desire for humans to return to their hearts in order to allow more of the universal energy in, which would dissipate all the tension radiating from humans. They long to live in full harmony with the humans.”
“And what about the humans? Is there hope for getting them to move from their noggins to their hearts?”
“There is. I’ve noticed that the more I inject them with that universal energy, the more their hearts open up and the more their hearts open up, the less controlled they become by their egoic thought/emotion circuitry. I have to say, though, that it takes repeated injections because even when their hearts open, soon thereafter they tend to slip back into their egos. It’s like a pervasive addiction. With time, though — and many injections — many of them do indeed change to a more heart-centered state. Some of them are realizing that with a completely open heart they can utilize and even generate that universal energy without any help from someone like me. It will certainly take time to uplift everyone, though.”
“Yes indeed. Despite appearances, the way human consciousness works is from the bottom up. That’s why we’re working in neighborhoods instead of with leaders. And on that note I’m also here to tell you that after your year is up you will be returning to the home planet to teach and work with new recruits before they are transported here. We have thousands of new recruits ready to be sent to an Earth neighborhood and you will be able to instruct them on what to expect and how to fulfill their missions without being identified.”
“As you wish. I should say, though, that this planet has a humongous number of neighborhoods. We won’t have enough entities to put one in each neighborhood.”
“Yes, I understand. We’ll just have to work with what we’ve got. So are you having any problems with the humans? Any unforeseen challenges?”
“No, not really. If I’m having any problems it’s with this darn human body. It keeps generating chemical reactions when ever I’m in the proximity of certain female humans. It’s not so much a problem as it is an annoyance.”
“Yes, we’re aware of that. We have not yet figured out what to do about it and at this juncture in our mission it is essential that we utilize human bodies. If you showed up with your body from back on the home planet everyone would freak out and immediately kill you.”
Bennie chuckled, “I was a little freaked out when I first saw a human — and double freaked out when I first looked in a mirror. They are strange creatures but I’ve grown quite accustomed to them and now see that they are actually quite beautiful and not so bizarre after all.”
“Very well then, keep up the good work and I’ll be back one more time before your year is up.”
With this Flondoor disappeared into thin air.
When Flondoor reappeared six months later he was exuberantly congratulatory, “Bennie, we just took a reading on the vibrations of this neighborhood and the vibes are off the chart! You have done an outstanding job; far better than we had expected. I am so happy. So are you about ready to come home?”
“Well… uh… you see… there’s a problem.”
“Oh? What is it Bennie?”
“I… uh… I’ve… well… I’ve fallen in love.”
