Behold the Eminent

Free Verse

Upon shores of gold and celestial blue there is a path for every weary soul, a light to guide every hopeful heart — a place where dreams turn into prophecies and prophecies turn into a wanderer’s everlasting home.

Art saves the downtrodden and makes a new way for the broken spirit who feels out of place, and the artist savors words of unwavering conviction, songs that stand the test of time, and images that reveal the eminent within us that keeps us holding on.

The artist holds on, even when the world burns and screams “Let go.”

I fear so much and I still do not know my place in earthly power struggles, but I still have a sense of wonder, this pristine feeling I always return to that grasps at the unseen and listens for the unheard — and this is the magic that makes me untouchable to the forces that cut me down.

I want to create what saves me and reminds me that I haven’t lost it yet.

I want to seek eminence in realms unknown and in the unlikely heroes of legends retold.

Behold the eminent — though it may be a lofty vision that is still unseen, it is the voice of grander skies that brings me back to me.
