The writer draws comparisons to talents seen on popular television shows like "America's Got Talent," "Ru Paul's Drag Race," and "X Factor," acknowledging a sense of awe and slight envy. However, the author proudly lists their own quirky abilities, such as selectively raising one eyebrow, picking up objects with their toes, and the art of talking back without profanity. Behold, My Amazing Talents…

…that may not actually be talents, but I still think are pretty awesome. Don’t be jealous.

There are some extremely talented people in the world. Watching what they do on shows like America’s Got Talent, Ru Paul’s Drag Race, and X Factor, my mind is blown! I will admit, it makes me a little jealous because I know there is no way I can compare to that.

However, I do have some pretty amazing skills, such as:

  • I can lift only my left eyebrow can be raised.
  • Picking things up off the floor with my toes is a gift I’ve always had. My back thanks me.
  • I can talk back. Sometimes I can even do it without cussing.
  • Speed-reading picture books is my forte.
  • I can slow motion walk; usually when it’s time to go to work.
  • There have been times that I have given an “evil eye” so demonic that I instantly get an apology without asking.
  • When talking to someone about a topic I lost interest in, I can simultaneously build my grocery list in my head and still come off like I care about the conversation.
  • I can let out a fart next to my husband and successfully blame the dog.
  • If I get sunburnt enough, my freckles will start to connect.

I don’t want to brag, but I’d like to think my skills are just as cool as Karen’s from Mean Girls who claims to have super powers. #wejustbecamebestfriends

In my eyes, there’s no such thing as having a “useless talent.” We are all gifted in unique ways. Now go out in the world and flaunt them!
