Behind The Monster
Never wanted to cause pain but sometimes we aren’t given a choice.
He made up his own fantasy, Because the fantasy was better than his reality. A fantasy where he didn’t need to act merciless and cold, One where he could be good, instead of the villain.
They kept on telling him to change, Become a better person they say. But they never tried to understand, No one ever taught him how to.
He tried to open up but it only makes them suffer, So he bottled it all up, to not hurt the ones he loves, But it only led to even more grief, As they only see a monster and not the man.
They didn’t see how scared he was to be alone, They didn’t notice his grief from the burden, They didn’t see his cry for help for someone to reach out, But only saw his mistakes.
