Beginner’s Guide to Medium Basics
Assembly Manual for title, subtitle, images, and submission to publication

Title and subtitle formatting:
Big T sets the title format

Small T sets the subtitle format

Steps to insert an image from Unsplash:

Hit the plus sign

Choose the second green symbol from the left and type in a search

Hit enter

Select an image

Choose one of the three image sizing options. Some pubs suggest the left side smaller option. Personally, for how it looks on a laptop screen, I like the middle option.
Voila, your copyright-free image with a caption is all set.
If you have a copyright-free or licensed image downloaded on your computer, you would choose the first green icon and then your computer’s file nav system should open, choose the file, and when it inserts type in a caption in the same format as the Unsplash caption, and then choose the sizing option as above.
Submitting to Publication
Hit the 3 dots next to “Publish” in the top right of your screen.

Choose “add to publication”
Choose the applicable publication and hit “select and continue”

Hit submit

Choose your tags

Then hit submit to publication 😊 and wait patiently 😜

PS: I see a lot of new writers using quotation formatting options to add emphasis to words. The quotation options are really only supposed to be used for pulling quotes from your other stories or the works of others. Clicking the quote button once is for such pull quotes. Clicking it twice is to repeat some lines from earlier in the current story that you want to quote later. To emphasize words you should really only use the Bold and Big T or Small T options. Sticking with preferred formatting will increase your chances of having the story boosted by the curators.
