Becoming a Verified Book Author on Medium

Step by step

Snip by Gabriella — email received from Medium

There is a great new feature on Medium where you can add the books you have written to the Medium platform.

Anybody can apply and you do not have to be in the Medium partner program to have this service.

The steps are simple and you want to have a few things ready when you begin the process. The process itself is 3 steps. First, you submit your info to claim the book you have written. Second, it gets verified by Medium staff. Third, you will receive the author badge on your medium page.

You will start on this page

Things you will need:

  1. your e-mail
  2. your medium handle — is found on your own main page mine for example is https://gkorosi75.medium.com/
  3. your book’s title
  4. book authors — limited space if you have multiple authors I used the comments place which was the last step to list all authors
  5. a short description of book 25
  6. your ISBN number for the book (ASIN numbers do not work)
  7. publisher information — you can say self-published
  8. a web link to your book
  9. other comments — list additional info you want the reviewers to know.
  10. front book cover page — need to upload

Your medium handle can be found on your main profile page in the web bar. Copy and paste it into the application.

The steps are simple and easy to follow. With ISBN numbers they can be found on the same page where the book is listed.

Examples- when you go to the main page of a book

You need to scroll down to find this information:

On Amazon — find your book — scroll down to find your ISBN number

I submitted requests for all my books as I did not see any information limiting the number of books that could be submitted. I think this is a great new feature and I am looking forward to my books showing up on my profile.
