Become the Executive Producer of your Movie of Life

Because Life is your Biggest Project . . .

This week’s story is about directing your life as if you were the executive producer.

But, seriously, how would you like to be in a movie about your Life? You’re invited to participate in The Next Chapter — Vision Quest retreat, where we’re producing a documentary film of eight people in mid-life who will develop a Passion Project for their future. The motivating factor is a journey with psilocybin mushrooms to enhance a journey to the center of the mind . . . taking place February 26–29, 2024 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We have 1 spot left.

Check out info here.

Now on to this week's story . . .

Remember scenes in your life where you got lost in so many competing directions — each convincing and alluring but equally fatal when you mistook it for the real Role you are meant to play?

Freedom to choose and produce your Role in your own wide-eyed movie of life — that is the ultimate positioning.

I’d like you to look at how to become your own Executive Producer — the ultimate way to think and level up a more exciting life. No more low-level homogenization and normalcy.

Think how every phase of your life demands a different Role. All the different Roles can be an incredible experience when you master the art of being your own Executive Producer and then create the parts you want to play.

As an Executive Producer of TV shows, magazines, extreme sports expeditions, and international business ventures, I had to constantly reinvent and change who I was into the Roles I wanted to play. Creativity and confidence soared as I lived my performances . . . it became my art.

Do you have any idea how much brilliance and wit rots away if you don’t care what Role you play?

Do not wait for someone else to produce the “production” of your life.

Learn to be your own Executive Producer and consider this . . .

  1. As the Executive Producer, you can start developing the Roles you want to play in each new chapter of life.
  2. Everyone else’s idea of your Role becomes unimportant as you drive your story and quest forward with epic creativity, vision, and purpose!
  3. As the Executive Producer, you can develop your own style and put your spin on how the Role should develop.
  4. Executive Producers do not go look for what’s happening. They do not go look for the — It Factor. They are It. They create what is happening.
  5. As an Executive Producer, you always keep ownership of the character and Role you create. You never sell out your Role; instead, you nurture yourself into the leading Role.
  6. As an Executive Producer, you do not rely on governments, religions, and gurus to show you how your story unfolds.
  7. Executive Producers know they do not know exactly how the production will turn out, so they learn how to make decisions quickly and to manifest options for every situation their Role comes up against.
  8. Executive Producers hang out with other passionate producers — those creative, driven souls who brave the negativity of the complacent, celebrate risk, and do not fear losing themselves.

And if you hone your skills to become a MasterProducer, it’s like being your own Life Coach.

Your skills would grow to be like this:

  • Master Producers notice when their passion is slipping in their current Role and reinvent a new Role before it’s too late.
  • Master Producers develop each Role as if they are developing their own Life Workshop. You make up the lessons you want to learn and play them out.
  • Master Producers often reinvent themselves to keep their story strong and moving forward. If not, they know someone else will come along and take their part.
  • Master Producers take time to develop their character’s power and presence. They make sure their character is completely authentic and not made up. Authenticity always empowers and enhances the Role created.
  • Master Producers learn to practice and repeat until their Role becomes intuitive.
  • Master Producers develop special opportunities for each new chapter they play, which reveals their potential for even greater Roles. They give a Samurai commitment even when they are hanging off a cliff with no way to survive.
  • Master Producers give their characters the ability to become a hero. But they know beforehand the trap of playing the hero role. A hero knows that having special powers is completely beside the point, and the truth is that of a bigger purpose.
  • Master Producers are mindful of developing an ego character who wants success fast and thinks they have developed special powers — when they have barely started.
  • Master Producers work to understand the purpose and potential of the Role fully. Otherwise, the Role will never mature and gain momentum to achieve success.
  • They know they need to love their Role to the extent they would play the part even if no one was watching and no money was attached. It’s just the role they are interested in. It’s the art of who they are. It’s that pure.
  • Master Producers develop their Roles so they never reach a complete ending. They always develop each Role to flow into new developments, successes, and insurmountable challenges.

They know this is what gives the Role an appealing energy. Others want to see what happens next.

Even if your Role is to die, people know you’ll return to play an even bigger Role in another lifetime.

You become legend.
