I don’t watch the news that often anymore. The anger and despair constantly coming from the Media bums me out. I now get most of my news online from different Web Sites.
This article fascinated me
I read an article a month or so ago. Since I first read that article, I have come back to it again and again.
The article that is so inspirational to me is about The Recycled Orchestra from Paraguay. These children live in a slum in unimaginable poverty.
The children scavenge through the nearby landfill. They use the materials they find to build homemade Instruments.
Who would have thought?
Who would have thought that poverty-stricken children would create beautiful music that’s appreciated all over the world?
Beautiful things can be found in unlikely places. I was working as a security guard in the nineties. At one time I was assigned to a Transit system bus terminal in downtown Clearwater, Florida.
They had lived there for years
In the steel beams of the roof of the terminal, two mated pigeons had a nest. The two birds had lost their fear of humans. Passengers would throw the birds scraps of food.
When their eggs hatched, the pair would take turns feeding and caring for their young. I got a kick out of seeing the chick’s heads pop out of the nest as they grew.
The bus terminal was a loud and smelly place to work, but watching the pigeon family always made me smile.
Sunrises in Florida are Amazing
I learned to appreciate the sunrise of early morning. When I worked the midnight shift. I saw my share of sunrises and sunsets, and there were times when I worked a double shift that I saw both of those.
God is an Artist
No matter how tired I was, I marveled at the hand of a God who could create something so wonderful. I have had struggles these past few years. Observing nature and appreciating what God has done has helped to get me through the tough times.
Life is hard for a lot of us right now. Appreciating nature and the beauty that surrounds us will help us get through it. So go for a walk or go to a park and enjoy life.
