Beautiful Ornament Called Diversity

Poetry

Photo by Emily Fletke on Unsplash

Look. The picture hanging on the wall of fame. Polished Crystal. Framed with the gold of the world. Smiling Triumph. We are the New World it yells. Loud in its Glory. Proud in its Collection of

Every Colored Rose.

We are diverse it begs. And the roses scream.

They were plucked to be an ornament of a seller’s dream when they were meant to be blooming in their own earths.

A new ornament of every platform and organization aka diversity that needs to transcend above the mere compliance of things and robotic strategies and planning to sell an image, vs understand truly what inclusion and belongingness mean and what it requires to be truly and beautifully diverse.
