SCBWI Prompt: Flower Pots
Beautiful Flowers Everywhere In Or Out Of Pots
Natural beauty abounds when people care.

Today’s prompt is Flower Pots.
I don’t know if it’s about flowers or pots, but flowers are prettier, so I’ll write about them.
Flowers come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They’ve been mesmerizing us for ages. Just like people, they can be diverse, and diversity is the beauty of nature.
Last year in May, I went on a road trip. It is not the same trip I wrote about yesterday, but I did visit some of the same places. The experience was totally different this time, but I diverge.
The photo you see above was taken at Shelburne Falls, MA. There used to be a trolley bridge that went across the water by the falls. When the trolley stopped running, the bridge got neglected and was deteriorating. The ladies at the Shelburne Falls Garden Club decided to beautify it by turning it into a flower garden.
I don’t know if these flowers were planted in the pots or not, but there was a wide variety of flowers blooming there.

While the ladies at Shelburne Falls Garden Club were interested in creating harmony between man and nature, people in Old Town Spring near where I am currently stationed are not so keen on the concept of harmony. I shouldn’t blame the whole community for one jerk’s actions.

Not too far from there is the Mercer Arboretum, where you can find a variety of natural beauty being cared for. I took the next picture on the first day of spring, three years ago. It is one of my best selling photos. I simply call it Pink.

So, there you have it, my thoughts on Flower Pots. I am glad the prompt said Pots. Had it been singular, I don’t know where this post might have ended up.
As always, thank you for reading and responding.
