Summary

KTHT has introduced a 10 Day Poetry Challenge as their third writing challenge, inviting writers of all styles to overcome writer's block and share their work by tagging KTHT.

Abstract

The "Beat The Block: 10 Day Poetry Challenge" is the latest initiative by KTHT, following their successful 30 Day Poetry Challenge and 15 Day Writing Challenge. This new challenge is designed to inspire and motivate writers, both new and experienced, to push through writer's block. Participants are encouraged to explore various themes provided for each day, ranging from personal growth and emotions to introspection and life lessons. The challenge emphasizes creativity and self-expression, with no strict rules on writing style or format. Writers are invited to share their work on Medium and tag KTHT to ensure their posts are seen. The challenge is self-paced and can be accessed anytime, with the added incentive of favorite submissions being shared on KTHT's Ko-Fi page.

Challenge number three? Wait, what do you mean?

Over the last few months, KTHT has grown immensely. Many of our current active writers weren’t on the platform a few months ago, when we launched our first 30 Day Poetry Challenge:

As a matter of fact, they probably weren’t around for our 15 Day Writing Challenge either. I can’t believe it’s been four months! Time flies on Medium:

We are people who wake up with purpose and intent. We are people who show up and never give up. For that reason, when writer’s block rears its ugly head, we don’t shy away from a challenge (apparently, there’s also this thing called writer’s cramp).

One of the best writing advice I’ve come across is from Louis L’amour: “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”

There’s a time for writing breaks and there’s a time for allowing yourself to be inspired by prompts, challenges and people, in general. Now is that time — make the most out of it!

Here’s a 10 Day Poetry Challenge that doesn’t necessarily have to be focused on poetry alone — we embrace any writing stlye and format. In fact, we don’t do rules and we don’t place ourselves in boxes here. We’re focused on pouring our souls into writing, everything else is just background noise:

Day 1: Creating impetus and momentum

Day 2: Too much of one, not enough of the other

Day 3: Altruism & a wounded ego

Day 4: Past experiences leave an emotional imprint

Day 5: Both love and fear motivate

Day 6: Be receptive, not rejective

Day 7: Something is not as it seems

Day 8: To be human is to be wounded

Day 9: Walk your talk

Day 10: What did your father teach you?

You do not have to be a writer for KTHT to join the challenge — just make sure you tag us so that we don’t miss your posts. Also, there’s no deadline, this is a challenge you can complete at your own pace, anytime.

Feel free to invite others to join you on this writing adventure! The more of us, the better. Together we can beat that nasty writer’s block!

This challenge will be pinned at the top of the pub for one/two weeks. Afterwards, you’ll be able to access it here.

Enjoy! And don’t forget to let me know how you’re progressing. ♡

P.S: We’ll be sharing our favorite challenge submissions on our Ko-Fi page. Stay tuned!
