Beat and Ache

A Poem

There seems to be little in between

beat and ache

beat and ache

there seems to be a lot of weeping and seeping bleeding as they call it, with disdain, dripping and

pouring and spilling and hurting I am grateful she is doing her job

I am grateful she is feeling so much Beat and ache

beat and ache

it’s every day waking up thankfully, yes, thank you, yes

but it is knowing that in between the beating and aching somehow there has to be

a pause

that we can fill with gratitude.
