Be the One Who Gets the Prize
No Matter How Long It Takes

Cliches can be overdone, especially on the Internet, but sometimes old cliches make sense.
Today is one of those days! My lightbulb came on, my elevator went all the way to the top, etc. Okay, enough cliches, I’m sure you get the point.
I can remember when playing tennis as a teenager my coach kept saying “be the ball”. I’ll admit the saying was lost on me during those years, since my mind was on boys and not tennis!
This week I’ve struggled a bit with insecurities about my writing, which I don’t understand. I’ve sold hundreds of articles in the past!
That’s when the lightbulb lit up. I realized it’s different for me now because I’m writing what I’m passionate about, not what a client is paying me to write about.

There are always those unanswered questions. Will people resonate with what I’m saying? Is this helping anyone except me? Can I do better or do more?
So today I decided to be the ball! Or in writers' language, I need to “be THE writer”. I need to be the writer that gets the clicks, the writer who helps thousands of people navigate life, and the writer who gets paid as a bonus for all that hard but helpful work.

The Pressure of Timing
Timing can be a great pressure, especially if you are comparing your speed or growth to others.
I’ve decided to go at my own pace and not the pace of everyone else. I’m so happy for those who realize their dreams in a quick way, but for me I also want to take time to enjoy the process and learn while I earn.
Whatever you want to be, do it with gusto, and “be” the _______. (whatever you want to be)
