Be Sure to Thank Someone You Love
Don’t overlook this important detail in your life.
Last week a man moved into our senior community. He had recently lost his wife and was full of grief.
He told of how his wife had been helpful to him in so many ways. He had never told his wife how valuable she was to him. Now she was gone. She would never hear those kind words.
I thought of my oldest son, who recently drove me to my monthly appointment with my ophthalmologist. He held the doors open when I hurried in, holding my Rollator.
I sat while he filled out my paperwork, accompanied me back to the eye tests, and answered the questions asked by the operator.
In the examining room, the doctor’s assistant put drops in my eye to deaden the pain of the needle going into my eye.
The doctor gave the good news to my Scott; the eye was improving.
Outside, Scott’s car was parked a distance away. As we walked, Scott said, “Pick up your feet, Dad.” He knew of my recent dreadful bout with Coved-19 and my 51-day absence from my senior home. It affected how I walked and everything else.
When my son Scott drove me home, I mentally reviewed the many tasks that he did for me.
More good news. My butterfly bushes have arrived for my new garden. Scott will dig the holes for them and plant them for me. Great son, Great Scott.
I must write to him my sincere thanks.
I don’t want to wait as our new renter did.
