Be Open (More About Me) - Marilyn Glover

Welcome back! I am excited to share more about myself here!
I am a single mother of four beautiful adult children, three daughters, and one son. In September 2020, our family welcomed the birth of my first grandchild. My grandson, Lennox, filled my heart with so much joy and was just what the doctor ordered after a challenging last year for me. Lennox has reminded me of the importance of enjoying life’s simple treasures. Watching him grow and take on all of his “first” experiences reminds me how liberating it is to view things through a child’s eye.
I am a pit bull attack survivor. Yep! Five years ago, a dog I knew well and helped care for inflicted 16 bites to my legs, one just missing my femoral artery. It took six months for me to recover, leaving minimal nerve damage to my left leg. Despite the incident, I still love all dogs! I once worked in animal care as a tech providing care for dogs, cats, birds, and other small animals. I am a firm believer in adopting pets from shelters instead of purchasing furry friends from pet stores. Regardless of what happened to me, I have no regrets, for I am a dedicated animal lover.
I have almost a twenty-year run of employment in the hotel industry. I began as an ICU/HEART ward cleaner in a hospital then switched gears to hospitality. I worked my way up to manage housekeeping and laundry in a 200 room capacity interior-style hotel. I have taken on challenging properties implementing strategies that helped raise scores in “cleanliness” and “guest service” on Trip Advisor. Being a hands-on manager with a strong team has always been my recipe for success!
