I’d just shut down my private counseling/coaching practice, moved to the Atlanta area, and started online full time.
In March I went to an internet marketing conference with about 200 people. This was all still very new to me.

The very next month in April, I’m at a huge conference in Atlanta called The Big Seminar. It was. Big, that is. About 500 people in attendance.
On Sunday morning Mike Stewart is presenting the same workshop, and again asks for a volunteer.
Again, no one was raising their hand! And I’m thinking:
All I gotta do to get my name and business in front of 500 potential customers is go up there and remember my name, my website, and what I do.
Due to the stage lights and a darkened room, Mike could not see me when he chose me. It was fun to see the expression on his face when he recognized me. Mike did a great job of playing it like I was brand new.
Another fun 5 minutes.
So in the space of about 5 weeks, I had gotten my name, my website, and what I do in front of over 700 potential customers.
I paid big for it though: when all was said and done, I had spent about $2500 for those 2 conferences.
