Be Cautious: Scammers Alert on Medium‼️⛔️

(Be aware of engaging in scammer activities)

Hi, my friends!

Today, I want to share a crucial experience regarding scammers on Medium. Read this article until the end to benefit and identify potential scammers.

Last week on Medium, after reading an article by an active writer, I wrote a comment letting them know I learned valuable lessons. The writer liked my comment and clapped. That could be the end of the story, right?

But no, after a few hours, I received a reply message with a number to contact for any writing-related help.

As a newcomer on Medium, I was happy to see someone willing to help me establish myself on this platform. I contacted him via WhatsApp, using the provided number in the Medium comment box. He replied that he was happy to help new writers grow on Medium and sent me a Telegram link to contact his admin and join their community group.

Without delay, I contacted the Telegram link, expressing my interest in joining their community group. The admin sent me a form to fill out with my personal information.

Without thinking, I filled out the form and sent it. The admin then messaged me that to register with their community, I had to pay $100. If I registered, they promised to give me three writing tasks a week, for each writing they will pay me $45.

My confusion arose as I was already paying for the partnership program, so why pay again to establish myself on Medium? I cautiously put him on hold saying that I needed time to research their community group.

Meanwhile, I contacted the Medium support center, sending an email about my concerns and requesting information on whether they had any community groups requiring a $100 registration fee for new writers.

After three days, I received a reply from the Medium support team, asking for screenshots and the person’s Medium account details for clarification.

I sent them all the screenshots. After checking everything, the Medium support team warned me not to engage in these fraudulent activities, revealing that the account responding to me was impersonating a well-known account. I realized the whole matter.

Yesterday, I received a similar message from

Carl Jeffers account. The scammer used his name and profile picture, which seemed confusing.

As I experienced this issue earlier, I understood the matter. I checked the profile and saw he had only 4 followers, and his profile showed to follow him, but I knew that I was already following him.

The account holder is a potential scammer using others’ profile pictures and names for fraudulent activities. I reported this account and blocked him.

So, my friends, be cautious about any scammers. If you have doubts, contact the Medium support centre immediately.
