The Slightly Edited Transcript

Welcome, everyone to the Smart Content Income Podcast, the podcast for content creators. This is Jeff Herring, your host, and as always, I’m glad you’re here and I’m happy to be with you. We’ve been doing a three-part series called Three Genius Template Series. Create, Repurpose, Profit is the real name of it. Create, Repurpose and Profit. This is episode 22, the profit episode. So have chosen a good one to be here. Episode 20, we created a piece of content using the Barrier’s Genius Template. In episode 21, you repurposed it five different ways in five minutes. Here at episode 22, we’re going to look at how to take the Barrier’s Genius Template and turn it into bucks. Barriers to bucks, four simple steps. Create content with the Barrier’s Genius Template. You come up with three barriers to a common goal in your niche and for each barrier, you name what to do instead, the strategy for getting around that barrier. You do that three times.

You’ve got a nice piece of content that can be an article, a blog post, a post over on Medium. It could be a video. It could be a podcast just like this. Hey, now here’s where it gets really cool. You’ve already written the content you’ve done it with what I call chunk content. Here, it’s three chunk content, three barriers. What that can easily turn into is a five chapter ebook or a mini ebook. Chapter one is the introduction. Chapter two is barrier one. Chapter three is barrier two. Chapter four is, you guessed it, barrier three and chapter five is not a conclusion chapter. Never, ever, ever have a conclusion chapter in your ebook. Have a what’s next chapter. Other ways to engage with you, other ways for them to spend money with you or both.

Step three, repurpose the Barrier’s Genius Template into a five module course, but Jeff, there’s only three barriers. How does it become a five module course? Much like the five chapter ebook, module one will be the get started here module, where you maybe have some get started here tasks for them to do, which is a great stick strategy to help them stick around for the course. Chapter two is… I’m sorry, not chapter, module two is barrier one and what to do instead. Chapter three is barrier two and the strategy for getting around the barrier module. Module four… I kept saying chapters. Module four, module four, module four is barrier three and the strategy for getting around the barrier. Module five is what I call the putting it all together module. You do a case study. You make sure everybody’s got it down. You review and then you talk about what’s next, another way for them to engage you or another way for them to spend money with you, or both.

Chapter four… Not chapter four, step four. Gosh, I’m getting chapters and modules and steps all mixed up here. Step four, do it again, and again and again. It’s a very simple way to create content, promote it, market it, turn it into an e-book, turn it into a course and then just do it over and over again. I know it seems so simple. I can make it harder for you. I mean, I’ve got the high price degrees, but why? As my buddy Al Einsten said, “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.” That’s what I do my whole business around and y’all seem to like it.
