Bard

Goddess of song, born from the cosmic symphony

The deafening silence of a tremulous void roars to instantaneous life Filling the final spiraling arm of a shimmering multi-tonal galaxy

Unfurling layers of boiling heavy metals Spilling meandering gaseous mists into the lightless iron-clad emptiness

The germinal empowerment of the infinite black sucks all existent distractions from within the bounds of its titanic gravitational pull until the song within is fed, ready to emerge, renewed

A cosmically rendered orchestra strikes up prelude forever mute Each mote of stardust freely floating every one alone in the growing spaces of the universe

Eternally moved by the glory of this sacred genesis, every particle inured Rejoicing in secretive hymn bursting in excited cosmic praise

As Bard emerges, Goddess of Song Queen of Starborn Nebulea embraced in the melting colors of the shameless twilight sky

Fueled by unremembered dreams sung through darkened days and light-crowned nights

Stepping onto a cold forged stage while luminaries like dazzling lime-blazed spotlights revolve in a white trailing glaze

Illuminating the streak of twinkling wishing stars, mounted and set on dripping graduated strands of un-mined gold, silver, and copper

Draped, a moondust veil across eternally burning supernova eyes Color, sound, and matter all synthesized to transform the previously written melody into incessantly assembling destiny

Trailing a gown of ice dust piled high with curling ribbons of plasma bouncing and swirling with frenetic intensity Blasting comets with the harmony of a Starfire heart

Expanding and contracting with spectacular rhythm vibrations driving all galactic progression

Explosions of tangible light directing the choreographed ecstatic salutation of all atomic satellites

Theoretical sound still unable to traverse the vacuous void

The absence of audible noise clouding up in nebulous waves breaking on the shores of Saturn’s reeling rings

Searching for an end to the absolute hush Riding the high frequency of belief Leaping from peak to peak

Every atmospheric barrier experiences a blasting sonic push as her inner gravity densifies and pulls Searching out her worshipful singers, feeling their lust Drawing their creation’s power into her own

With staccato bursting poses graceful whipping whirls corporeal reality is broken through

Bard emits one clear note An aural boost passing through all in its wake Creation and destruction, opposite sides of the same flipping golden plate

In trembling awe all hearing her radiant song fall Some prostrate, kow towing supplicate Others, kneeling, expectant faces upturned in desperation

Searching for answers as those they seek rain down Yet, none satisfy the all-consuming longing for inner peace

An iridescent sky filled with magnificence and thunderous intonations reigns above followers, begging the Mother of Melodies that she should grace their wanting ears with mind-flaying arias

Sung off the breath, she took of the scouring solar winds now reformed into The Siren’s Suite wreaking a contagious insanity across the bulging breadth and plunging depth of this star-struck mockery of humanity from the unfathomable length and immeasurable width of every unknown deteriorating galaxy

Only able to grow no matter the instrument or presentation of power With every line and phrase complete another quadrant blasted in a sonic shower

Unable to bring her brilliant form onto the same dark divergent plane All mortal life disintegrates in ashen submission to her intemperate wrath fueled display

Where is there for mortality to run and hide When Bard, Goddess of Song opens the vibrant chords of the cosmos Unleashing her mounting dismay every megaton of energy powering her inevitable transition from glorious night into life surrendering day

Radiance incomparable choir calling in a language ancient, pure

A host of star-shine sirens bathing in an intergalactic sea rising to a shattering crescendo Accompanied by a newly-born phalanx of meteoric harpy in one harmonic infusion uniting voices strike a blast reverent and holy

Together, basking on the beaches of sunfire-soaked islands Volume, luminance, and mass all increasing equally fast

As Bard finally seats herself on a vacillating throne of mercurial fire to a preponderance of clattering applause adorned in the beauty and majesty of the myth and legendary pageantry applied to her celestial court as royal robes and breastplate

Her newfound gravitas collecting planets and stars clouds of glimmering void touched dust waves of radiation rebounding in every minute reflection

Royal guards flying in every conceivable direction through her newfound collection of prismatic sound-floating air

A new target enters her growing atmospheric bubble settling into an elliptical orbital pattern

Drawing into her direct line of sight instead of provoking her unfiltered ire This new universe of song order starts to acquire Penitent entities throng to her perfectly tuned galaxy in its infancy

This is the story of a cosmic entity being born from the stars themselves and finding its place in the cosmos. As with many forces of nature, we tend to personify them and attribute will, so I gave the concept of song a purpose and personal voice as she found her throne to recline upon. Watching the universe continue to revolve on its course as she spreads the symphony of the stars.

I had this concept for a while, just a single line, but when I went to see the Snow Waltz tour, the idea really formed into this narrative and started to pick up speed. I put an epic classical playlist on Spotify, and let the cosmos speak to me. I did do a little research, to make sure it wasn’t just a bunch of nonsense, though I am no scientist. It is still here for enjoyment as a poem first and foremost.
