Bandit, the Puppy, Stole the Sedona Sunset Moment

I was hovering over my tripod, camera ready to catch the last few embers of pink in the evening air. I had not anticipated the competition for photo spots at the last remaining water pool at the Secret Slickrock sunset spot — which, as it turned out, was not so secret anymore.

The professional photographer who had arrived just before me had nabbed the best spot for capturing both of the spires of Cathedral Rock in the reflection.

I snapped several, not so fantastic, shots from other vantage points and was really just enjoying Mother Nature’s show. I was already contemplating my plan for coming back in a couple of nights and getting there early.

When the professional suddenly packed up and left, I moved over into position, ready to snap a shot, when, all of a sudden, this black and white puppy came bounding out of nowhere and straight into my shot!

I did get a few without “Bandit.” But I really think that Bandit stole the sunset show.
