Baking Cookies Is Therapeutic

Not just for the baker but the receiver

I’m in the mood to bake, but I need to watch my sugar and carbs.

I was feeling frustrated. I know if I bake some cookies for others, I’m going to want to eat some. I found some low-carb cookies at the grocery store; while delicious, they just aren’t the same. Baking for me soothes my soul.

Have you ever felt this way? Well, I found a solution to this problem. I’m reaching out with love to my archives of low-carb recipes.

I found a hearty peanut butter cookie that used to do the trick. The peanut butter and egg add a little protein. You might be thinking, what’s my deal?

My deal

Here’s my story; I have recently found out I’m insulin resistant, which explains my weight gain. I am thankful for a new lease on losing weight. I have lost about seven pounds in three weeks.

If you feel like your body isn’t collaborating with your weight loss efforts, don’t hesitate to push the issue with your doctor.

There hasn’t been a time since my breast cancer that I haven’t tried to lose weight. However, without medication, my body just wasn’t working properly. Now I’m on a mission to lose weight without feeling deprived.

I don’t even want these cookies that bad, but it’s the act of baking that has me frustrated. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I’m going to try some new recipes. I don’t even care if they taste bad. Maybe then, I won’t be tempted to overindulge.
