Sydney Living

Apartment in medium density Sydney suburb, Excellent train and bus commuter services, Handy highways, Everything at lazy fingertips, Necessities easily delivered with minimal charges, Easy walk to shops towing faithful shopping trolley.

Moving to Backwater, City conveniences cease, Country community different life, Mental reset, My little challenge, Ferret out what to do and who’s in the know, I’ll be close to family so I’ll ask politely, Might even get an answer, Know the ropes.

Backwater’s Local Railway Station.

Wyee railway station closest to Backwater, 10 minute drive, Opened August 1892, Farming community sending produce to city markets and receiving manufactured good supporting farms.

Times change, Original sidings now removed, 2020 station upgraded, Providing commuter support amenities and lifts.

Know Wyee station from rail fan days of 1960's, Steam locomotive journeys passed through station on way to Newcastle and of course, Hunter Valley for wine tastings.

Grandparents rode trains Brisbane to Sydney for family visits, Occured to me, Quite possible grandparent’s train hauled by 3265 or sister locomotive, Just as I rode rail fan trains pulled by 32 class back in 60's.

Talking to old friend, Said I’d be moving, His smiling comment “What! That backwater!”, Backwater appealed to me.

Thought to write about life changing personal adventure, One thing led to another and “Backwater Publications” takes flight like startled egret on 1st January 2024.

Blessed be.
