Pick Your Peril: The Hero of Mudtown

There was some possibility for adventure with the outlaws of the forest, but perhaps it would be better if you parted ways.
The forest men bring you to the outskirts of your former home before noon, and you see them off with a wave. You spend a few minutes searching Mudtown for clues again, but the only thing you find is that the local birds and raccoons have started making themselves at home in the abandoned buildings.
You hope that your family is still safe, and that your little detour through the forest didn’t delay their rescue. You sit by the stream and try to decide what to do next. Wishing that the next path leads to a reunion with your loved ones.
The possibility is high that the King is the one that abducted your family and neighbors. From everything you’ve heard, he is a cruel and greedy man. You could make the journey to the castle and see if you can finally start getting some answers.
The bog remains overcast and ominous in the distance. Deep down you get the feeling that something residing in the swamp is behind all the peculiar happenings going on.
You expect to find little to no help at the castle, but wandering around a dangerous place like the bog could be a good way of getting killed.
