Back Home From Bucerias

The shopping has happened. The cost for our travel to and from Bucerias, with an additional collectivo ride added up to 100 pesos. Was it worth it? Since I saved 60 pesos per bottle of wine [I bought 4 of them], yes. But, it wasn’t really about saving money at the supermarket. After all, we would have gone regardless to visit our neighbour. The above photo was taken on the opposite side of the highway from the major supermarket called La Comer.

We arrived at her place on time to find that her sister from Vancouver was also at the villa. My wife picked up the items from home that the neighbour had brought — another reason for going — and then we went together to the beach which fronts the three villas on the property. Like us, our neighbour likes to return to a place that feels like home-away-from-home.

It didn’t take long before we trekked 500 metres to a beach bar-restaurant for cerveza con limon and a light lunch of tacos. The food was good, if a bit pricey and we left satisfied. Then we returned along the beach to use the lounge chairs in front of the villa. It was a good visit and it will likely be repeated two more times before the end of February when our neighbour returns home to Canada.

We got back home in the late afternoon, too late to do anything here on Medium. We soon settled in and enjoying playing a dice game and a well-deserved glass of wine. It was a good day.
