Baby Went Away
A poem about losing a pet

Mascara spiders inscribe your red cushion can’t go anywhere with a face covered in crying tears dance diagonal along my twisted cheeks upon my leaning head and splash off in to the velvet couch
soggy squishes of tissues surround my tired, breaking heart
I’ve spent my whole body searching it aches but can’t resign
I sedate and beg for answers in between dreams
where has she gone? Baby please come home.
