Baby Fingers
A twittle about child development

Busy, busy baby fingers pulling, poking, patting, picking feeling, touching, learning more becoming smarter that’s for sure

I’ve said before that twittles ‘can be about anything and everything’, so here we are, a twittle about baby fingers! When you think about it, watching a baby explore their world through touch is quite fascinating — and, yes, they do shove everything into their mouths!
A twittle, for those who are unfamiliar with this form, is a 4-line micropoem constructed with exactly 100 alphabet letters. You can learn more about twittles, here.
The illustration I’ve used for this story is one I did for a booklet published many years ago called From Babble to Gabble: your child’s speech and language development. I literally have one copy left, buried in an archive box somewhere. According to the National Library of Australia, they still have it on file. At the rate I’m going with book publishing, it might be my only claim to fame!
This twittle story is in response to Paper Poetry’s Poemorama in celebration of National Poetry Month. You can learn more about it here -
