Babies

A poem about newborn babies

Photo by 🇸🇮 Janko Ferlič on Unsplash

Babies newly born A delight to life A fresh mite To start a plight On their way To make this world Meaningful Expendable And whole But not torn.

A newborn To cuddle To love To pamper A joy to our days For any mother, Father or, Grandparent.

A baby cries For milk For a nappy change For Their mother’s love Who will give No matter How they feel.

It’s an abundance Of tears For nothing Can come between A baby’s need For a mother’s love So bright On a sleepless night.

A baby’s Small hands Small feet Small legs And tiny face Can always Make you glow Wanting to pick Them up Smothering them With love.

A baby arrives Never on a day or hour You will expect Pushing their way out Into the world To grow up And be someone So great A beaming son or daughter To create.

Until the day When Their own baby arrives Bringing a joyous joy To cope Along with Inspiration and hope.

Now they too Can be part Of something So jolly And futile A newborn Is how life Goes on And on To make the world Go round and round For newborns Is a blithe We can contrive.
