Summary

The web content is a reflective poem that marvels at the complexity and capabilities of the human brain, heart, and the intricacies of human design as a testament to a higher power.

Abstract

The poem titled "Awe-Inspiring" delves into the wonders of the human mind and heart, acknowledging the difficulty of understanding these complex organs with the very tools they provide—the mind itself. It draws a parallel between the engineering feats of skyscrapers and the far more intricate design of humans, who are "coded" with wisdom and love from birth by a divine creator. The author, Rita Duponty, draws inspiration from Psalm 139:14, celebrating the marvel of human existence and the body's capabilities, and writes in response to a prompt about being in awe of what our bodies can do.

Opinions

  • The author expresses admiration for the human brain and mind, considering them praiseworthy for enabling human creativity, such as writing poetry.
  • There is a sense of wonder at the heart's enduring function, likening it to a seventy-year-old pump that runs continuously without fail.
  • The poem suggests that human complexity, particularly in wisdom and love, surpasses man-made structures and is attributed to a divine origin, referred to as "our Father above."
  • The author believes that the human body's capabilities are awe-inspiring and reflect a deeper, spiritual aspect of human design.
  • By referencing a biblical verse, the author implies that the intricacies of the human body are a manifestation of being "wonderfully made" by a higher power.

Beyond all our human understanding!

Praiseworthy is the brain and the mind. Without it, I could not write a poem of this kind.

How do you analyze the brain the mind, by the same brain and mind? Yes, this is another quandary of a special kind.

Who can compare a running pump? A seventy-year pump, running with no daily start? Of course you will agree, it is the fabulous heart!

Mathematicians and engineers blueprint buildings and skyscrapers that are huge and tall. But far more complex, in wisdom and love, humans are coded before birth from our Father above.

Author’s note: Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because in an awe-inspiring way, I am wonderfully made.”

This poem was written in response to the weekend prompt “in awe of what our body is capable of doing.”
