Away From Your Planet

Free verse

Author: Willgard (via pixabay)

I’m no longer a resident of your planet. I always felt all alone there surrounded by crowds equipped with big mouths, but devoid of faces and hearts.

Too intense a smell everywhere impossible to ignore like a cheap perfume leaving me breathless, literally.

The landscape dazzles with colors, leaving me dizzy, causing nausea and a terrible headache. The paints arranged with care on a thin canvass woven out of stolen clichés, illusions and lies, striving to hold the image, in vain though for a discerning eye able to detect the ruins and rubbish through it.

I’d rather traverse the universe – vast and unpredictable, where I feel safer and less scared, monotonous for an eye too lazy to discern hidden treasures – raw and simple.

Traveling away from your planet, I hope to find my own so very different from yours. Therefore I still do land on yours once in a while to remind myself why I left and what I should avoid and keep away from.
