Abstract

The narrative recounts how Imam Ibrahim an Nakh'ai, who was blind in one eye, chose to separate from his visually impaired student, Suleman bin Mihran, while walking to the mosque to prevent potential ridicule and backbiting from onlookers. A beautiful story about the Great Imam Ibrahim an Nakh'ai (May Allah have mercy on him):" Ibrahim an Nakh'ai was blind in one eye, and one of his students, Suleman bin Mihran, had a very weak eyesight.

Ibn al Jawzi narrates that once both of them were walking together towards the al Jami', when al Imam al Nakh'ai said to his student:

"O Suleman! Let's part ways and take different routes because I'm afraid that if we walk together, some people will call us names and backbite and thus become sinful."

His student replied, " Why do you worry about it when it is us who will get the reward and they will be sinful?"

On hearing this an- Nakh'ai said: 'Subhaan Allah!" Rather if we are safe and they are safe, that is much better than us earning reward and them sinning".

Ibn Kathir (May Allah have mercy on him) said:

“It was narrated From Imam Ahmad (May Allah have mercy on him) that he used to recite these two lines of poetry, either to himself or to someone else:

If you are ever alone, do not say I am alone; rather say I have One Who is watching me.

Do not think that Allah is ever unaware even For a moment, or that anything is hidden From Him.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir (6/219)

According to a Hadith Narrated From the Prophet (saw): “Feel shy before Allah just as you would Feel shy before a man of your Family.”

(Classed as Sahih by al-Albani in as-Silsilah as-Sahihah (3559)

Remembering death and imagining that if death comes to us while we are sinning. In this case, how will we meet our Lord?

Remembering the Paradise what Allah has prepared For His righteous slaves and thinking about the punishment of Allah(swt).

Allah(swt)says:“So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection?.” (Fussilat 41:40)

So,the point is that — we should protect ourselves From disobedience to Allah(swt) but at the same time do not become a source of sin For other people.

If a person does evil to a third party in Front of us, then immediately describe his Good deeds and do not give an opportunity to someone else to commit a sin by backbiting us. We should keep our affairs right with other people For the sake of Allah.

May Allah(swt) protect us From sins and keep us Steadfast on the Straight path. (Ameen).
