It’s finally here! This weekend officially kicks off the Autumn season, the most popular season of the year in America. The fall means many things to many people, and it’s not just the beauty of the falling leaves and the slowly dipping temperatures.

A lot of people love to get their freak on when we reach Halloween at the end of October, the first major holiday of the season. It is a time for crazy costumes, the wilder and more outrageous the better.

It’s time for creative makeup, wild hairstyles, and the expression of their alter egos. For a lot of people, Halloween is the best part of the fall.

They can do things they wouldn’t normally do, let off some steam, and express their hidden inner side.

It is an opportunity for us to take a walk on the wild side, to express the other side of our personalities, to fly our freak flags high.

It is a time to shout, to let it all out, and to escape the confines of conformity and drabness that mark most people’s daily lives.

It is a rebellion against the button-down suits and ties mentality of the big bosses, the top executives, and the obscenely rich 1%. It is a challenge, however indirectly, to their presumptuous superiority and authority.

These big shots who can thrive only in their conservative echo chambers don’t like Halloween because it upsets their fragile egos and carefully cultivated facades. Nobody cares who they are, and they can’t stand that.

For the majority of people, Halloween is the best time to mark your own path, go your own way, and blaze your own trails.

It is such a refreshing feeling when you look at the world through the eyes of somebody else, dress like somebody else, and act like you were somebody else, and Halloween provides that opportunity.

You can be anything you want on the magical, mysterious holiday that is Halloween. You can dress up as witches, warlocks, wizards, and seers. You can be a clown or a villain, a skeleton or a ghost, a goblin or a fairy.

There are no restrictions on Halloween, and the imagination runs wild. Halloween is all about expressing your freedom and non-conformity. And that is just for the adults!

For the younger children, it is a chance to go trick or treating and knock on other people’s doors, something they never get to do the rest of the year. They can peek inside and see how other people live.

Children often like to dress up as their favorite media heroes.

There will be a lot of Barbie and Ken costumes out this year, for sure. Tons of Rocket Racoons and other Guardians of the Galaxy, Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Wednesday Addams.

There will be plenty of Spiderman, Mario Brothers, and Lightyear Buzz Space Ranger costumes out and about on the street.

Hershey Kiss costumes are popular, as are Bluey, Evil Clown dresses, and Descendant stars like Mal. Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” Cruella de Vil, Little Mermaids, and Black Panther costumes are all big.

Don’t worry if you never heard of half of these people, your kids will let you know. They all have their own favorites, superheroes, and their arch-enemies already in mind.

Getting free candy is a sugar rush that never quits. Although these days their parents usually dump their candy and replace it when they get home, it is still such a glorious feeling to get something for nothing.

Halloween is extra special for the youngest children, and their schools traditionally have Best Costume competitions for each class and sometimes even Halloween mini-parades down the street.

Halloween is one holiday that almost everybody loves, kids and adults.

Right now the best and the brightest minds are fiendishly brainstorming together on just which costumes they want to wear to make the biggest impression.

Deciding which facet of their personality they most want to express, and how they can make the biggest splash and portray themselves in the most out of the ether ways their inner self can conjure up.

They all will be hot topics for discussion in most American homes this weekend.

It’s falling leaves, it’s Halloween and costumes. Enjoy! We are all connected…
