Do you feel overwhelmed with creating content for different channels?

Do you want to be able to send your email list consistent content?

This article will walk you through a step-by-step guide to fully automating blog articles to newsletter content using no-code workflows and email marketing.

The Problem with Building a Newsletter

As a content creator, it can be difficult to create content for multiple channels.

It can be hard to keep up with the content that needs to be created and difficult to repurpose content across different platforms.

This guide will provide an easy way to repurpose content, reduce overwhelm and test content across multiple channels.

Draw It With Me Plan to Automate Newsletter Content Creation & Publishing

There are several ingredients that you will need to start this process.

You will need:

  • RSS feed-> I recommend RSS.app.
  • Zapier
  • MailerLite to help automate and send the content.

I initially thought the process would be simple — put the Medium content onto MailerLite.

However, the content did not look how I wanted it to look. I decided to build my own RSS feed to do a better job.

I then created an RSS feed and sent it to RSS.app, which then sent it to MailerLite, which would send the weekly newsletter content to my email list.

Workflow overview via Zapier

The first step is to get your RSS link through your blog channel.

If you write on Medium, the link will be :

medium.com/feed/yourusername

Once you have your RSS link, it’s time to create a no-code workflow. This will trigger when a new article is posted on your blog. You can also use a filter to choose only the content posted on a specific day.

Find the Record in Airtable

You should store your blog article content in a central database like our Medium Article Database.

You’ll use the Medium URL pulled from the Medium’s RSS Feed as the “Search Criteria” to find the associated record with your content.

Optional: Create a Newsletter Cover Image

Within this workflow, we recommend and use BannerBear to create graphic design images that will automatically be embedded within our newsletter.

While this may be helpful, it’s not necessary.

Create a Summarization of Your Blog Article within the Newsletter

With the advancement of AI, we leverage AI to summarize our blog article content into a summary description.

The reason is that MailerLite doesn’t allow you to showcase your article within the RSS campaign fully, however, it does allow you to include “snippets.”

We want to leverage AI to create those snippets on our behalf.

Build Our RSS Feed to Take Blog Articles to Newsletter Content

We build an RSS Feed with Zapier first.

And then upload the feed into RSS.App.

It may seem counterintuitive to build an RSS feed twice—however, RSS.App has a better way of displaying the content we’re curating for our RSS feed to MailerLite than Zapier’s in-house RSS Creator.

For context, Zapier RSS Feed is our “transfer feed” to transfer data to RSS.App, which will then showcase our RSS Campaign in a better way via MailerLite.

Once you’ve compiled your RSS Feed, you take the feed from the RSS.App campaign and plug it into your MailerLite RSS Campaign.

From there, you can showcase your image from BannerBear and your blog description created with AI.
