At Least If We Die, The Bed Will Be Made

But, at the end of it all…

(Photo by Author, © Todd B Harrington)

The other day as I left the bedroom after making up the bed, the title phrase came to mind. Not sure from where or why, I just found myself thinking, “OK, at least if we die, the bed will be made.”

But then went about to:

Do the dishes Do the Laundry

Take out the Trash Pay the bills

Water the lawn Mow the lawn Water the garden Weed the garden

Vacuum the house Clean the house Clean the toilet Clean the Refer

Vacuum the car Service the car Gas in the car Wash the car

Wash the kitchen floor Wash the bathroom floor

Shower Brush your teeth Comb your hair Apply deodorant

Put clean underwear on

And at the end of it all…

Is there enough toilet paper?

Not on the list, but so much more important than that crap; making sure those closest to you know you care about them and love them.

Yes, this is a somewhat guilty confession. It’s me in a nutshell sometimes.

We can get lost every day “making our beds”, only to forget about what is most important. Really, it’s that easy.
