Asking Right
A poem about seeking what is wanted.
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do,…” (St. John 14:13).
Ask For What You Want
Too often afraid people don’t ask, don’t get Strangling themselves in a pity net A sneer or a frown, makes you torn Feeling rejected, you want to run Whatever your fear is, get over it Otherwise, in despair, you sit. There is no harm in being apprehensive Don’t remain, dismiss, and live Take a step, a miracle may appear Awaiting to bring hope so near In this life, no one makes it alone Ask For What You Want, listen for the tone A no is only for today Tomorrow, maybe a yes to stay. Not asking will, inevitably, leave you void and wanting Like a recurring nightmare, every day your haunting You struggle, you fight to no avail Defeat your foolish pride, Ask For What You Want Get out of that drowning well And sooner or later you will be gallant.
