ASK, BELIEVE, RECEIVE

Ask, and You Shall Receive.

There’s Great Power in These Words

“Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24

There is magic in these words.

I’m a big believer in this teaching. I don’t always remember to use it, but when I do ask, I get answers.

This has happened repeatedly on numerous occasions throughout my life. The latest being yesterday.

I had been trying to solve an issue with an online account for over seven months. I didn’t consider asking anyone. It just didn’t cross my mind.

Maybe I thought no one I knew had any knowledge of my issue, or I just thought I’ll just figure it out myself. The point is, I wasted MONTHS trying to resolve an issue that ended up taking FIVE minutes from the right person.

While I still hesitated before asking for help, when I did ask, I received my answer INSTANTLY.

Now, this teaching “ask and you will receive” doesn’t always mean, you are to physically ask someone you know.

You are asking God. You are asking the Infinite Intelligence. You are asking your subconscious mind. You are asking the universe for answers. Whatever you want to call it, the process is the same. Whether it’s New Thought or Bible Teachings, it’s all the same.

World-renowned authors of the 20th and 21st centuries have all focused on the same message. Joseph Murphy, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, and Rhonda Byrne are just a few of these greats that have highlighted this message.

I’ve read their books, and if I’m to take their lesson to heart, I can summarize it in three simple and common steps.

  1. Be Specific in Your Question.

Ask, and you will receive.

“It’s not BITCH and you will receive… not WHINE and you will receive…” Tony Robbins explains.

Ask intelligently, be specific in your ASK. What is this that you want? What are you trying to achieve? “I want more money” is nowhere near specific. Focus on your goal. Define it. Write it down. Put it up on the wall.

Really know what you are aiming for and WHY.

Write down WHY you are trying to achieve this goal. Why does it mean so much to you? This will help you stay the course and committed to your cause.

Be focused, be clear in what you ask for.

2. Believe.

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22

Have faith. Believe that you will receive the answer. You will receive the tools. You will receive knowledge. You will receive the support you need to achieve your goals. Your question will be answered.

Review your goal daily for 5 mins first thing in the morning, and 5 mins at night before bed. Read it and visualize it. Imagine the end result. Feel those beautiful joyful emotions. And do not think about the obstacles. It’s not for you to worry about how it will happen.

This is what faith means. You just know it’s going to happen.

“Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20

3. Do Your Part.

“Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action.” — Napoleon Hill

A lot of people miss this step. Rhonda calls it “receive”, others focus on putting a plan in place.

Doing your part means just that. Put in the work that needs to be done to achieve your goal. Put together a plan, and GET TO WORK!

People confuse having faith with sitting on your ass waiting for the miracle to happen. You will get your miracle, but not when you’re watching Netflix — unless your ask was something along the lines of “I would like to pull an all-nighter watching Netflix series.”

Meditation and prayer are part of the belief and faith that you need, but it doesn’t mean sitting around!

You don’t know how you will achieve your goals? Start with an overview of what you know. Start writing down steps, possibilities, tasks, responsibilities, and a timeline.

YOU NEED TO HAVE A TIMELINE. Otherwise, what you could have done in ONE day could take you A MONTH.

There you have them, the three fundamental steps every self-help guru talks about.
