As I Look for Beauty It Shows Up

Beauty is everywhere

I practice a few rituals in the morning that help me integrate and live my BEM (Body, Emotions, and Mind) model. One such ritual is saying Affirmations. I have observed that by saying Affirmations loudly in front of the mirror, I get to see myself, hear my voice, watch my body language and feel my feelings. To me, it serves as perfect coordination of how I am physically showing up, emotionally feeling, and mentally present to what I am affirming.

I started saying affirmations several years back when I lost my job and embraced self-employment as a blessing in disguise. Saying these affirmations have tremendously helped me move through major life transformations from mother to empty nester to mother-in-law to grandmother smoothly. In the professional arena, saying affirmations have helped me be determined with grit and gratitude when expectations are not met.

I invite you to check the following article wherein I shared my experience of saying consistently an affirmation about “body”. I was inspired to go for Regular Physical check-ups. I was motivated to be active, be conscious of doing activities that connect my mind, body, and spirit. I made healthy choices and it increased my confidence level and raised my self-esteem.

“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” — Confucius

Keeping the above quote in mind, I am picking up the page titled “Beauty” from the book Meditations to heal your life” by Louise L Hay, and let us say the following affirmation together:

Flowers, like people, are all beautiful in their way and constantly unfolding. Beauty arouses me and heals me. Beauty is everywhere. Natural beauty shines forth from every little flower, from the patterns of reflected light on the surface of the water, from the quiet strength of old trees. Nature thrills me, renews and refreshes me. I find relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simplest things in life. As I look with love and nature, I find it easy to look with love at myself. I’m part of nature; I am beautiful in my unique way. Wherever I look, I see beauty. Today I resonate with all the beauty in life.

It is your turn now:

What does beauty mean to you? How has saying this affirmation changed your relationship with beauty? Can you permit yourself to consciously look for beauty within yourself and in your surroundings?
