As a Tribute — On this Earth Day

April 22, 2022, is celebrated as World Earth Day. As a tribute to Mother Earth for shaping me, growing me, transforming me into who I have become today. I present a showcase of my reverence to Earth, to the soil.

What is the importance of soil in my life?

Earth and I share a deep connection early in my growth process. I grew because of nurturing “soil.” My liveliness, capabilities, and potential are because of “soil.”

Let alone the shape, the size, the form, the color of my body. I know for a fact it will change, it will deform, it will transform, and lastly will decompose.

Yes, it will become manure. It will go into the Earth. Because I am an offspring of the sacred “soil.”

How can I not repay my debt of gratitude to this “soil” which morphed me into a sustainable life? The life within me is a result of the extracts from the soil.

I commit today to express gratitude to “soil” in all ways possible. Of course, I am not the biggest to make it happen globally. But, I am not small either, not contributing what I must.

I must take care of the sacred now. Or else the future generation will deprive of relishing the fruits, the flowers, the trees, and the whole meaning of one’s existence.

I know it is not going to be easy. I also know true humanity will never blossom if I seek only to develop myself. It is my duty, the regard that I must pay to my mother.

The only mother who with her maternal love and affection has nourished my body has always protected me and kept me safe in her “aanchal”, in her shelter.

I must give back to where we have come from. The power of giving is greater than receiving, If today I could give back to Earth, what I have taken from it. Its purity, its richness, its solidarity, its composition.

I will encourage another one to support me in this. Why should we not? Isn’t mother earth supporting us, let us build and create what we want.

Tell me at once if the human has not conquered all that he ever wanted to conquer?
