Artist Mini-Interview with thestorm.boy (he/him)!

Lessons on relying on structure (references) and knowing yourself enough to not let your weakness get in the way of your biggest dreams!

From this interview I was touched by thestorm.boy’s passion for inspiring others to bring out the spark out of everyone. I was reminded to know and reflect on my own flaws and weaknesses and how sometimes those might come in the way of some bigger dreams — but it doesn’t have to once you’re cognizant of it! Also, to reach out for support, either to people or resources (e.g., references) if needed! There’s definitely no shame in doing so!

What is your artist origin story?

When I was a child I always liked to draw and paint, so I started to do it almost every day and at the age of 16, I started to improve and study more and the rest is history!

How do you want to impact the world?

I want people to feel inspired, creative, let them know that everyone has this beautiful spark inside that they can let out in any kind of art.

What is your life motto?

My biggest enemy is me.

This means to me that I have to believe in myself always in order to advance in life.

What is your all-time favourite medium?

I think right now I enjoy traditional art the most because I'm better at it than digital, but hopefully ill still learning and improving.

What advice do you have for new artists?

To always use references!! This was a struggle at first for me, I didn't want to use them because I thought it was cheating or copying, and believe me, it's not, it will help u a lot, even pro-artists use them so you can use them too!!

Beyond being an artist, what do you like to do?

Editing videos and photos (it’s so funny)!
