I liked this article a lot. It details the growing power of hackers working for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I really enjoyed the timeline of all major known Chinese hacking actions from 1999 to 2021.

This article goes into some depth on how Chinese hacking evolved from hacktivism and website defacement in the late 1990s to full-funded military units able to perform advanced persistent attacks and conduct the biggest theft of intellectual property the world has ever seen. One thing I did not know is that Chinese universities used to perform hacking actions for the government prior to the military taking charge of the mission.

Definitely recommended.
